Insurance Information

At PBOMS we make every effort to provide you with the finest surgical care and the most convenient financial options. It is our pleasure to assist you in maximizing your insurance reimbursement for covered procedures.

On the day of your treatment we will ask for payment of your initial responsibility and we will file the insurance claim for you. Please understand that your initial responsibility is only an estimate based on the information available to us.

The range of benefits depends solely on what your employer wishes to purchase from the insurance company. Some plans cover as much as 100% or as little as 30% of dental services. Most plans fall within the 40% to 80% range. Some plans base the amount of benefits on an arbitrarily devised fee schedule. For this reason, you may actually receive a lower percentage benefit than the level indicated by your insurance plan. For example, if your plan states that it will pay 80% of the fee for a specific procedure, it means 80% of the arbitrary fee determined by the insurance company and not the actual fee charged by our office.

The financial obligation for your care is between you and our office. Please remember that our relationship is with you, not your insurance carrier. You and your employer pay their premiums and they have an obligation to you, not our office. We will be happy to assist you in any way we can.

Most insurance companies respond within four to six weeks. When the insurance payment is received we will reconcile your account. Any remaining balance is your final responsibility and will be due by the date noted on your statement. Any credit will be refunded to you. If, for any reason, we have not received payment from your insurance carrier within 60 days of the filing date of your claim the balance is then due and payable by you.

We will help you in any way we can in filing your claims, handling insurance queries, processing follow-ups, etc. No question is too small for you to ask. We are here to help you.
