I-Cat 3D dental imaging system is the state of the art cone-beam CT scan technology for three dimensional, high definition imaging of the dental and maxilliofacial structures. We are proud to introduce this new technology which provides in-office rapid CT scans of the mouth, face and jaw areas which allow us to identify the exact amount of bone available for placement of dental implants and to asses the need for bone grafting, etc. This allows us to visualize critical structures within the jaws, such as the nerves, blood vessels and sinus cavity, as well as to pinpoint the location of impacted teeth within the jaws, identify potential tumors within the jaws, and to provide a comprehensive treatment plan system which can be viewed digitally by the patient and our staff, as well as the referring doctor's practice.
The scan system has a rapid time of 20 seconds and minimizes the radiation to the patient, utilizing the same dose of radiation as a standard panoramic x-ray system. This is a much lower dose than traditional hospital based CT scans and this allows us to rapidly acquire accurate measures of the jaws and facial regions.
The scans can be used in a wide variety of oral maxilliofacial surgery, including dental implants, bone grafting of the jaws, pathology of the jaws, facial trauma, and impacted teeth.
