Dr. Brown earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Lubbock Christian University and a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from Baylor College of Dentistry. He graduated as the valedictorian of both his college and dental school classes. He then entered the U.S. Navy for two years of active duty and served as a Lieutenant at the Naval Regional Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Brown then returned to Dallas where he completed a medical internship in anesthesiology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and a residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Parkland Hospital. During his last year of training he served as Chief Resident. His extensive training included general anesthesia, dental implants, removal of wisdom teeth, mouth surgery, treatment of facial trauma and reconstructive jaw surgery.
Dr. Brown opened his practice in Odessa in 1982. He is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is a fellow of both the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a member of the Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Southwest Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Permian Basin District Dental Society, the Texas Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserves for eight years.
Dr. Brown is currently on staff at Odessa Regional Medical Center in Odessa. He is dedicated to providing quality surgical care to the residents of the Permian Basin.
Dr. Brown and his wife, Vicki, have five children (Nathan, Richard, Trey, Lindsay and Shayne), one granddaughter (MacKenzie) and one grandson (Kellan). Dr. Brown has been active in numerous civic and educational organizations including the United Way, Boy Scouts, Rotary Club, Art Museum, Midland-Odessa Symphony, Little League Baseball, P.T.A. and the Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of Odessa. He is a founding board member of the E.C.I.S.D. Education Foundation and served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Lubbock Christian University for over 20 years.
